Prep materials for the LLSAC Oct 8th public input session

Meeting notes of the LLSAC meeting dated Sept. 24th, 2026, shared by Laura Briggs

Time to prepare for the October 8th 2026 public input session to be hosted by the Liberty Ledge Sewataro Advisory Committee (LLSAC), regarding their draft recommendations for the Select Board (SB).

Please consider attending the Oct 8th LLSAC public input session in person but if you cannot, virtual participation is an option. As you read through the draft LLSAC recommendations to the Select Board, please think about comments or ideas you might like to share with the group.

Below please find the 14 recommendations reviewed on their September 24th call with tracked changes. These recommendations may change prior to the meeting, but this should give you enough to formulate your thoughts in advance of the October 8th session.

During the meeting, the LLSAC also mentioned they had received written resolutions from both the SHT and the COA groups. Below you will find copies of the written resolutions submitted by the Sudbury Housing Trust (SHT) and the Council on Aging (COA) stating that it is in the best interest of the Town to consider the potential for affordable housing or age-restricted housing, in addition to a land use study.

Please consider writing an email to the LLSAC and the Select Board stating you disagree with the SHT and COA re a land use study and any type of housing at Sewataro, given the overwhelming public input this Summer 2026 regarding our desire for a long term lease for the Camp Operator (renewal negotiations to open in January 2027) and for resident recreational programming:

Clearly the SHT and COA continue to push their agenda and ignore the will of the people.

Below please find a copy of the written resolution the LLSAC discussed during their call that the Sudbury Housing Trust sent to them. Keep in mind that the SB Chair Janie Dretler helped edit the resolution, before dropping from the SHT call so that her vote would not be part of the record. Jack Ryan stated that Janie needed to be careful as she is the Chair of the Select Board. In addition, SHT member Kay Bell did vote in support of the SHT resolution, despite the fact that Kay Bell also serves on the LLSAC. Sudbury advisory groups are advising themselves, versus listening to the public and their desires for the property.

Below you will find a copy of the Council on Aging (COA) resolution that SHT member Jeff Levine asked the COA to vote and submit to the LLSAC. The COA focused their resolution on age-restricted housing while the SHT focused on affordable housing for the Sewataro property. Would the COA have submitted a resolution if SHT member Jeff Levine did not show up at the COA meeting on September 14th 2026 and spend over an hour influencing the COA to do so?

Below please find the draft agenda and timing for the LLSAC meeting on October 8th 2026:
